Now, According to the Official Force India website:

“Force India Formula One team is a representation of the new young fast paced global Indians and F1 fans from across the world.”
Yeah, right! more like cash in on the increased interest in the F1 Circus by the Indian viewers, more like, increase it even more through the publicity this generates and then cash in further. It’s no secret that India’s a big market every one want’s to tap into, cos it’s big money when you tap into it. Cricket is a good example of this and so is F1 when suddenly it’s one of the top viewed sports here in India in the recent years and then Narain Karthikeyan made it into F1 in the same Jordan team which Vijay Mallai has bought now and it sky rocketed even more.

<my ramblings>I am only guessing here but I think at least one third of the money in corporate sponsorships in F1 comes from Indian companies and in Cricket, I am sure it’s more than 80%. Imagine if the Drivers from the team make it onto the podium some race or better yet, win a race after scoring pole position, (I know it’s not going to happen, at-least, not in 2008 loll), the interest in F1 will surely quadruple over night as I say on the Home page. Yes, imagine that, it’d be very good for Motor-sport here in India of course, maybe we will have a F1 or a Superbike champion in a decade or two. But for now, we will have to contend ourselves with the midfield or tail-end positions Force India forces it’s way into on the F1 Grid. For now at-least, the Ferrari’s and the Mclaren’s have nothing to fear!</my ramblings>
